Should I roach his mane (Arabian) -pictures!-?

I think he'd look terrible with a roached mane, and it would take a long time to grow long again. What I would do is wait for it to grow a little longer, then pull or trim the rest of the mane to the length pulled manes are usually at (5" +/-) then let it grow out together.
