What DJ equipment do I need?

I am newly starting to DJ and I am trying to figure out exactly what I should be buying. I have a basic Numark midi controller for computer based DJing, but I want more equipment and software to further expand my Dj capabilities. Basically I want to be able to mix live well and record my mixes, as well as maybe remix some songs, if not eventually create my own material. What software and equipment should I be investing my money in?
