i was put on yaz for six months because my dermatologist wanted me to start accutane. but the BC cleared my skin amazingly, all by itself, so i never started the accutane. however, being on the pill was awful. maybe it was just yaz, and another wouldn't have been so bad, but i don't really need birth control so i didn't try. yaz made me gain 20 pounds, bleed 7 days (as opposed to my usual 3 day cycle) with incredibly bad cramps (as opposed to my usual lack of). it also made me very very emotional. before birth control i cried maybe once a year since i was 10. on yaz, i wanted to cry every day and gave in about once a week. I was short tempered and very easily frustrated, which is not like me. needless to say, when my 6 month supply ran out, i did not go back for more. i've had happy periods ever since:)
