explain to them that these people on your list are extremely important and talk to them about renting a place. tell them how much you appreciate their help and understanding. what about your house? if it is big enough, have it there. i'm sure your friends will stay after to clean up. if that's not what you really want, then go with your first instinct and rent a place. just explain to your friends that renting would be more appropriate for the kind of party you want to have. it's all about you this time!!
