Should gay marriage be called "Marriage"?
The only reason "marriage" is often defined to be between a man and a woman is because marriage as an actual religious tradition was, at the time, *intended* to be between a man and woman because Christian emperors Constantius II and Constans issued a law prohibiting same- marriage in Rome and ordering executed for those that were married to same- individuals. However, considering that people's standards and morals changed through time, which is relatively different than the standards and morals during ancient Rome, in this era, calling a same- intimate union a "marriage" is appropriate. Such a union is accomplished by means that are generally no different than a opposite- marriage, with the only difference being the pairings of the es involved. As for your last question, no; what people call the union does not matter at all. You can call it a horse's if you want. It's very trivial. What matters is if we even get the right to marry or have our "union" in the first place.
