Are male teachers given worse punishments for with students, than female teachers are for the same act?

Lately, it seems like most of the incidents i've heard regarding teachers having with students, seem to be female teachers and male students. I just wonder if people think that in the cases where the teacher is a male, initiating with a student, the man is treated more harshly. Does society think it's a bit more acceptable for a female teacher to do this act, and they are shown as young, and beautiful, while a man is portrayed as a sick pervert? I think it's disgusting either way, but my question is, in cases like this, who receives the worst treatment? Does the neighborhood and community get into an uproar if the registered offender that moves into their neighborhood is a female, just like they do with male offenders, or is it more acceptable for there to be a female offender rather than a male? I just want to know people's opinions on this subject, and whether or not anyone thinks there is a double standard?
