HELP!!! MY NEW DOG WON'T EAT!!!?

i just adopted a dog from the local animal shelter and i cant get him to eat...i am feeding him the brand that the shelter fed him which is pedigree but he still refuses to eat...i have even mixed his dry food with chicken broth...i have no ideal what else to do...any suggestions???
